Watch concerts on your TV

While we don’t yet have Concert Library apps just for TV devices, we’ve heard from many people who are able to watch concerts using one of the methods below.

Option 1: Connect a computer to your TV with an HDMI cable

1. In order to view a performance on your TV, Sign In on a computer and choose the performance you want to view/hear.

2. Connect your computer to your TV via an HDMI cable (pictured here).
Insert one end into the port on your computer. On laptops, this is usually found on the side near the charging port. Insert the other end into your TV, typically located behind the screen.

3. Change the TV’s input setting to HDMI. The TV should now have the same image as what appears on your computer screen.

Please note that you cannot navigate the Concert Library webpage with your TV remote – this can only be done by using your computer.

If your TV does not show the same image and/or if there is no audio, ensure that the cable is inserted all the way. Consult your TV’s user manual if problems continue to arise with the image or sound.

Option 2: Watch on an Apple TV using AirPlay

If you own an Apple TV device as well as an iPhone or iPad, you can alternatively use AirPlay to start watching a concert in the Concert Library app on your mobile device, then cast it to the television with your Apple TV. (This is still an experimental feature, but we’ve heard from patrons who have been successful in viewing this way.)
