Free Student Tickets
Thanks to generous funding from a small group of individual donors, tickets to regular SPCO concerts are free for students of all ages and are available starting two weeks prior to eligible performances. The SPCO is committed to sharing the music we play with the broadest possible audience in our community. We believe music has the power to inspire, challenge, move and uplift and that everyone, including young people, deserves the opportunity to experience transformational performances. Free tickets for students expands access to the arts, making it easier than ever to experience SPCO concerts.
Many SPCO performances take place at venues on or near schools and college campuses throughout the Twin Cities including the Ordway Concert Hall, Ted Mann Concert Hall at the U of M, and Saint Paul’s United Church of Christ.

FAQs ABOUT FREE STUDENT TICKETS:
Who qualifies as a “student”?
Any current student enrolled, full or part-time, in an educational institution or continuing education program. Students must present proof of enrollment, such as a valid student ID, to pick up their free tickets at will call. For students 17 and under, please visit our Free Child Tickets page. Unlike student tickets, which are available beginning two weeks prior to regular SPCO concerts, child tickets can be reserved any time after single tickets go on sale.
Is there a limit to the number of student tickets I can get?
There is no limit to the number of regular SPCO concerts students can attend. Students may reserve up to four free student tickets at a time, but each attendee must present proof of enrollment to pick up their tickets at will call.
How it works:
-
- Students can reserve any available scale 1, 2 or 3 seats at regular SPCO concerts for free (note: all students need a ticket to attend — see below for restrictions).
- Order online starting two weeks prior to the performance using the “Student” price type or call our Patron Services Office at 651.291.1144.
- Present proof of enrollment, such as a valid student ID, at will call to pick up your tickets at the concert.
Which seats and concerts are eligible for free student tickets?
Any available scale 1, 2 or 3 seats at regular SPCO concerts are eligible for free student tickets. Premium scale seats at select concerts are not eligible for student ticket reservations. The only concerts not eligible for free student tickets are our annual holiday concerts, Arts Partnership Co-presentations and special performances.
Can I reserve free student tickets for a school or community group?
Yes, for select concerts. Once single tickets are available in August, group reservations can be arranged through Patron Services. We encourage a ratio of one chaperone for every 10–15 attendees under the age of 18. All group reservations are subject to availability. For information on seat availability and to make your group reservation, contact Patron Services at 651.291.1144 or email [email protected].
