Impact of gifts

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

Gifts from individuals are our largest and most sustainable source of revenue.

You make it possible for the SPCO to be a great orchestra for everyone in our community, and we are thrilled to share some of the ways your support had an impact in the 2024.25 season!

Your gift in action

Powerful musical experiences for youth

We welcome a new generation of audience members with FREE tickets for children and students. In the 2024.25 season, over 6,800 young people and over 42 school groups attended SPCO concerts free of charge, thanks to supporters like you!

Bringing you world-renowned musicians

Your donations also powered living composers writing music for today, like Valerie Coleman, who premiered a new piece with Twin Cities-based conductor William Eddins in May. She describes her music as “addressing what is within all of us” through transformational musical storytelling. Of this performance, one audience member wrote, “[the] entire program, especially the Valerie Coleman piece — spectacular and incredibly moving.”

Powering the musical artistry

Your support highlighted the artistry, creativity, and virtuosity of our musicians when Cassie Pilgrim played Bach’s Oboe d’Amore concerto, Steven Copes performed Prokofiev’s First Violin Sonata, and Kyu-Young Kim led Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons. This was all made possible because of your support.

Collaborating with Artistic Partners

You funded dynamic collaborations with our four outstanding Artistic Partners: Richard Egarr, Abel Selaocoe, Gábor Takács-Nagy and Tabea Zimmermann.
