Frequently Asked Questions

What is the SPCO Audience Match?
The SPCO Audience Match is a new fundraising initiative encouraging recent SPCO donors to inspire fellow SPCO audience members to make a new gift to the SPCO. From now through March 31, 2018, recent Annual Fund donors can make an increased gift or pledge (see below for examples of increased gifts), and the full amount of that increased gift or pledge will be pooled with increased gifts from other donors and used as a matching incentive to encourage others to make a new gift to the SPCO. Any new gifts made between April 15 and June 30, 2018 will be matched.

Donations from audience members are the SPCO’s largest and most important source of support—Thank you!

What gifts count for the SPCO Audience Match?
There are several ways to contribute to the SPCO Audience Match.

For recent SPCO Annual Fund donors, between now and March 31, 2018:

Make an increased gift of any size to the SPCO’s Annual Fund, and the full amount of your increased gift will count toward the Audience Match.

  • Example: A recent donor gave $400 last year. Before March 31, this donor makes a gift of $500. The full $500 of this increased gift counts toward the SPCO Audience Match!
  • Example: A recent donor already gave $120 this year. Before March 31, this donor makes a second gift of $50. Their second gift of $50 counts toward the SPCO Audience Match!
  • Example: A monthly Sustaining donor increases their monthly donation from $10 per month to $20 per month before March 31. The total of their increased monthly gifts charged before March 31 counts toward the SPCO Audience Match!

Pledge your increased gift amount for three years, and the full amount of your multi-year pledge will count toward the Audience Match.

  • Example: A recent donor gave $1,000 last year. Before March 31, this donor makes an increased pledge to give $1,500 for three years, starting this year. The total amount of this multi-year pledge—$4,500—counts toward the Audience Match!

Make an increased gift or pledge and ask your employer to match it, and your employer’s matching funds will also count toward the Audience Match.

  • Example: A recent donor gave $250 last year. Before March 31, this donor makes an increased pledge of $300 and submits their employer’s completed matching gift form to the SPCO. Their increased pledge of $300, plus their employer’s matching funds, count toward the Audience Match!

Make a new or renewed gift or pledge of $5,000 or more to the SPCO’s Annual Fund, and the full amount of your gift will count toward the Audience Match.

  • Example: A recent donor gave $1,000 last year. Before March 31, this donor makes an increased gift of $5,000. The full $5,000 of this increased gift counts toward the Audience Match!
  • Example: A recent donor gave $5,000 last year. Before March 31, this donor renews their gift of $5,000. The full $5,000 of this renewed gift counts toward the Audience Match!

For new SPCO audience members making a new gift between April 15 and June 30, 2018:
Make a new gift of any size—a one-time gift, recurring monthly Sustainer gift, or a pledge—and the full amount of your new gift or pledge will be matched by the support of recent SPCO donors. Check back at thespco.org/audience-match for ongoing updates!
