Now in the Listening Library: Our Farewell to the Ordway Music Theater

Final-Music-Theater-Concert

Our final concert in the Ordway Music Theater is now available in the Listening Library and can be heard on Classical MPR stations at 8 p.m. tonight.

On Valentine’s Day weekend, we concluded 30 years in the Music Theater with a program of works for orchestra and voice, conducted by Andrew Manze. Acclaimed mezzo-soprano Kelley O’Connor opened the program with Peter Lieberson’s tender and intimate Neruda Songs. After intermission, we were joined by talented soloists and the SPCO Chorale for the final work in the old hall: Beethoven’s monumental Ninth Symphony.

LIEBERSON: Neruda Songs
BEETHOVEN: Symphony No. 9, Choral

It was a truly memorable night, and we hope you enjoy hearing it again.
