This Weekend: Introducing the Beethoven/5 project

This weekend, we launch pianist Jonathan Biss’s ambitious Beethoven/5 project, for which the SPCO is the lead commissioner. Over the next two years, Biss will premiere new concertos inspired by each of Beethoven’s five piano concertos.

The project begins tonight with the world premiere of The Blind Banister, a new concerto by Timo Andres. (Our audiences may remember Andres from our Liquid Music Series.)
