TITLE:                          Marketing and Young Audience Development Intern
REPORTS TO:            Marketing and Communications Manager
STATUS:                      Part-Time, Unpaid Internship – may be eligible for college credit
DATES/HOURS:          Flexible – 15 to 20 hours per week

The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra is seeking a Marketing and Young Audience Development Intern for the summer, with the opportunity to extend the term into the fall. This position is responsible for assisting the Marketing and Communications Manager in implementing a number of new young audience development initiatives, and will also provide additional support to the marketing department as needed.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Assist in creating and implementing marketing strategies directed toward attracting young audiences
  • Serve as a liaison between the SPCO and various Twin Cities colleges and universities
  • Make connections with organizations and publications that serve young families to promote free kids tickets
  • Research young audience development tactics at other local and national arts organizations
  • Create engaging social media content related to young audience initiatives
  • Other duties as apparent or assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Participating in college program

Desired Qualifications

  • College level marketing coursework
  • Background or interest in arts administration and/or marketing

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent computer skills
  • Experience with various social media platforms
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
