About This Program
Designed for children ages 3-6, Start the Music! is the perfect way to introduce a young listener to classical music. Prior to the concert, musical activities engage small hands and big imaginations. During the 30-minute concert, mesmerized faces and aisle-dancing are common sights a family of instruments are introduced and the used to put a “soundtrack” behind a children’s book, narrated by Joanna Cortright.
These events have general admission seating.
10:15 a.m. concert
Beginning at 9:30 a.m., activities, crafts and games will be open to all concert attendees
11:15 a.m. concert
Beginning at 10:30 a.m., activities, crafts and games will be open to all concert attendees
12:15 p.m. concert
Beginning at 11:30 a.m., activities, crafts and games will be open to all concert attendees
The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra’s popular Start the Music!, xplorchestra! and Family concerts are FREE, thanks to generous support from Target. Free tickets are distributed through a random drawing.
