On Saturday mornings, we present kid-sized concerts packed with music, learning and fun! Our popular Family Concerts are a great way to spend time together exploring classical music set to educational themes that your child (or grandchild) will enjoy. Great for ages 6-12!

Girl explorer Sydney Forte, played by the hilarious Vera Mariner, is back and she is ready to learn more about music! This fast-paced and energetic concert will explore the many aspects of classical music and introduce you to members of the SPCO. For 50 minutes Sydney will lead your family on a musical journey geared for families with listeners aged 6-12. Where will she travel? Whom will she meet? What will she discover? Come along on this musical adventure and find out!

Designed for families with children aged 3-6, Start the Music! is an engaging and exciting way to introduce a young listener to classical music. Mesmerized faces and aisle-dancing are common sights at this 30-minute concert that introduces your child to different instruments and then uses them for a “soundtrack” behind a children’s book, narrated by Joanna Cortright. 10:15-10:45am concert Beginning at 9:30am, activities, crafts and games will be open to all concert attendees

Tickets will be issued randomly; early entries and/or method of entry (phone, online or regular mail) do not increase chances of receiving tickets. Limit one entry per household. Limit of 4 tickets per household.
The drawing registration period for the 2009-10 Season is now complete. Tickets for April—June 2010 will be mailed to recipients in March. Registrants will also be notified whether they received tickets via e-mail. Note: e-mail address is required in order to receive notification.
The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra’s popular Family, xplorchestra! and Start the Music! concerts are now FREE, thanks to generous support from Target. Featuring the musicians of The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, these programs are specifically geared for our youngest listeners. With the help of narrators, stories and themes, classical music is brought to life in exciting, toe-tapping ways. Free tickets will be distributed through a random drawing.
