SPCO Concert Membership FAQs
What does “an unlimited number of concerts” mean?
For only $5 per month, you can see as many regular SPCO concerts as you want – it is your choice!
Which concerts can I attend with my concert membership?
Your concert membership grants you access to all regular SPCO concerts. The only concerts your membership cannot be used for are Target Free Family Music events, Liquid Music performances and special holiday performances (December 12-21). Tickets must be purchased separately for those events.
So I don’t have to pay for a ticket to each concert I attend, it is just included in my monthly dues?
Yep! You pay only $5 per month to attend as many concerts as you want, no additional ticket charges apply.
I just ordered my concert membership. Can I start attending concerts immediately?
Once your order has been received and processed, we'll send you a confirmation email and you can start attending concerts right away this spring. Your card will not be charged until August 2013, at which point you will be able to start reserving seats for the 2013-14 season.
This is such a great deal – what’s the catch?
There is no catch! The SPCO is committed to making our concerts as accessible as possible to our community. That’s why we’ve lowered our ticket prices over the years and why we have launched our most affordable and flexible way to attend concerts ever! Visit thespco.org/musicforeveryone to learn more.
Do I need to reserve tickets, or can I just show up at a concert?
You can do either! Choose your own seats online in advance whenever you want to attend a concert or just show up at a concert and inquire about seat availability at the box office. Seating is subject to availability, so reserve early for the best seats.
How do I reserve seats?
You can reserve your seat in advance by logging in to your SPCO account at thespco.org and selecting seats to the concerts you want to attend. When you are logged in, the website will recognize that you are a member and you will be able to reserve your seats free of charge. You will then receive your tickets in the mail or you can pick them up at will call if your concert is coming up soon. If you don’t want to reserve seats in advance, you can show up at a concert and inquire about seat availability at the box office. The box office staff will look up your account to verify that you have an active concert membership and will help you find a seat if there are any available for that concert. The best way to ensure you can get a seat for the concerts you’d like to attend is to reserve your seats in advance online. You can also reserve seats by calling our Ticket Office at 651.291.1144. Click here for additional instructions on reserving seats.
If I have a 2, 3, or 4-person concert membership, can one person reserve the seats for each person in the family who has a membership?
Yes! Here’s an example: If there are two people in your family who want to attend SPCO concerts together, you can order a 2-person membership for $10 per month ($5 per person). When you log in to your SPCO account at thespco.org, one person in your family can select up to two seats per concert (one for each person in your membership) so you can reserve both seats at the same time.
Am I guaranteed a seat?
Seating is subject to availability. Reserve your seats in advance for best availability. If a concert you want to attend is sold out, you can choose from dozens of other concerts to attend throughout the season, or you can keep trying to get tickets to the sold out concert as tickets are often turned back by others who are no longer able to attend.
If I really like my seats, can I get the same seats at all the concerts I attend?
Only set package season ticket holders are guaranteed the same seats to every concert in their package. If you reserve your seats early, you might be able to grab the same seats at some of your concerts. However, members are not guaranteed same seats for every concert.
When can I start reserving my seats?
Members may begin reserving seats right away for concerts this spring. Ticket reservations will not be available over the summer, but you can start reserving seats for the 2013-14 season in August 2013 before single tickets go on sale to the general public. We’ll send you an email to remind you when you can start reserving seats again for next season.
I want to attend every concert! Can I reserve seats for every single concert at one time?
You may attend as many concerts as you want, but you can only reserve tickets to four different concerts at one time. If you would like to reserve seats for more than four concerts, you will need to do so in separate transactions.
When will my credit card be charged?
Any advance orders will not be charged until August 2013 and then will continue to be charged on the 1st of the month thereafter. If the 1st of the month is an inconvenient payment date for you, you can call our Ticket Office to have it adjusted. For orders placed after August 1, 2013, your credit card will be charged once per month on the same date of your initial membership purchase (i.e. if you order your membership on the 5th of the month, you will be charged on the 5th of every month thereafter).
What if I can’t make it to a concert I have reserved tickets for?
If you cannot attend a concert, please turn back your tickets so that others may attend. No need to exchange your tickets into another concert – you can just turn back your tickets for the concert you are unable to attend and then reserve tickets to a different concert by logging in to your account at thespco.org. Turning back your tickets is quick and easy – just visit thespco.org/turnback or call our Ticket Office at 651.291.1144. Please note: If you miss a total of 5 concerts without turning back your tickets, you will be moved to a will-call-only membership, which means you will only be able to reserve seats in person at the box office the day of the concert.
How do you collect my monthly fee?
We auto bill your credit card every month, on the same day of the month that your concert membership was activated.
Why do I have to provide you with an email address?
All our communications about concerts and membership benefits will be sent via email. We’ll send you emails about upcoming concerts you can attend with your membership, as well as courtesy reminder emails when you have tickets for a concert that is coming up. Concert reminders come complete with information about the program and alerts when heavy traffic and congestion are expected so you can allow extra time to get to the venue. Communicating via email allows us to get information to you as quickly as possible and saves on paper waste. It is the best way to keep you in the know about your concert membership.
Can I bring friends to concerts?
You cannot use your concert membership to get tickets for friends. Only members may reserve tickets and attend concerts with a membership. However, you may purchase additional tickets for friends while you are reserving your own tickets and you will be charged for the additional amount for your friends’ tickets. For example, if you have a 1-person membership and want to bring 2 friends with you to a concert, you may select 3 seats all together and as long as you are logged in to your account, you will only be charged for 2 of the seats and the 3rd seat will be free as part of your concert membership.
Is there a minimum commitment?
Concert memberships may be canceled at any time by calling the SPCO Ticket Office; however, membership cancellations during the first 12 months of membership will be subject to a cancellation fee of $50 per member. 30-day notice required for cancellations.
