Saint Paul, MN, January 4, 2012 – During the month of January, the SPCO will offer a pair of free tickets to anyone who has never before attended an SPCO concert. The First Concert Free campaign is the latest step in the SPCO’s efforts to make classical music accessible to the Twin Cities community, and is funded by the SPCO’s Wallace Foundation Excellence Award.

To get free tickets, people must go to www.thespco.org/firstconcertfree and fill out a simple online form, which will verify first-time attendance. The offer expires on January 31, 2012, but can be used for best available seats to any concert through June 9, 2012.

The Wallace Foundation granted $5.3 million in amounts ranging from $300,000 to $750,000 to eight Twin Cities arts organizations through their Wallace Excellence Awards. The Awards were created to support exemplary arts organizations to pioneer effective practices to engage more people in high-value arts activities. The SPCO was awarded the four-year Excellence Award in 2008.
